JCB 526 rattle in gear level

Recently purchased a 1999 JCB 526 and there is a really annoying rattle in the gear selector at low rpm. Local dealer said its a common fault with no cure. Just wondering anyone experienced something similar and been able to source a fix for this rattle apart from avoiding low RPM.

Might be the gear stick turret worn out, if so that will be a right tit of a job to do i think as access to transmission is very poor!

If it selects the gears fine then just tie a bungee cord around it!
