JCB 530-70 fan blowing up dust

Hi all,
I’ve a 2005 jcb 530-70 agri super with the jcb engine.
The problem I have with it is air from the engine bay gets blown downwards onto the ground kicking up great clouds of dust, to the point you can’t drive it without both doors shut when it’s really dry weather.
Is there some sort of mod available to cure this? I’ve asked my local jcb dealer but he claims to not have heard of it.
Just thought I’d ask before I make up my own plate to divert the air.
TIA

Have you got the bottom engine cover fitted ?, i haven’t on my 02 plate one as it’s a ball ache taking it on an off to change oil etc. It is marginally better with it fitted but not by much !.

As said above check the belly plates are on it.
We took ours off a 536 so a while to do something underneath and was terrible to drive on dusty concrete, we put them back on and problem solved

:ROFLMAO:yep its normal:poop:

There is a mod you can get for the bonnet to let air out the top but imo it needs to be twice the size so could make your own.

You can also take out every other fin on the side grill of engine pod that helps get rid of some air.
And make sure you got all the rubbers etc around bell housing etc underneath.

Yes real clever stuff by Jcb.... a ball ache. I lined the bottom mesh with wood and cut a hole in the rear cradle to let the air out there instead. Made a big difference, why the donkeys that designed the machine couldn't have done something like that is mind boggling

you will probably find the air then just comes out around the transmission and down on ground. you need to make a vent elsewhere to let air out or at least some of it.

jcb changed the design of the belly plates after a while , which was basically a plate made up and welded underneath with a 2inch gap between it and the original plate

Didnt help landlords 2008 machine got plate like that plus the bonnet mod still did it. Took every other grill out the side that helped most.

So checked the belly plates, looks like it’s missing. Will get one sorted and see how much difference it makes, not sure what you mean by removing every other fin?

oh yours is older then, one I did had a grill in the side of the black engine pod with fins over it, just took the fins out. Also think we turned the fan speed down slightly?

So other than fitting the plate underneath, ( which may well cure it) there’s not a lot more I can do? As far as I can see, there’s plenty of escape for the air without having to be driven downwards

air takes the easy route, sadly I think the plate you will get has a vent out to the side which will still chuck up a load of dust and more air will escape towards the transmission and out on the ground that way but having the plate has to be better than non at all.

we had the same issue at work with our one and a made a full belly plate from front to back under the transmission, keeps the dust down but a sod to fit and remove and is a straw/ muck trap.
