JCB 531-70 construction oil pump

We think our 531 handler hydraulic pump has packed up as it will only operate when revved a lot. Can the pump be changed for a larger one as I believe the Agri ones have a bigger pump which would certainly be better.TIA

My records tell me there is a Rexroth pump fitted to the JCB531-70. If I have a picture of the JCB id plate I will be able to confirm the current hyd pump and if the Rexroth unit is suitable.

Have the Hydraulics become slower over a period of time? or just gone very slow overnight?

We think a leaking spreadabale hydraulic motor drained the tank of oil over the winter, and oil level not checked enough resulting in loss of power in hydraulics over a week

stick with standard pump, you will need to change the whole system to fit a bigger one, the top spec agri one will have a rexroth but it will be a variable piston pump that works on a totally different system to your old style gear pump.
