Hi all,
540-170 JCB Teleporter (2017)
Intermittent fault with electronics, 4 wheel steer wont work, boom wont go up and down, boom wont go in and out. might occur/might not occur/might be all as described/might be some of described.
main dealer came and replaced the joy stick but fault continues.
resets and works for any period of time once you turn off the engine.
any thoughts??
Kind regards
Din

You should have big controller under the boom hidden under a plate.
Harness is very tide and sometimes pull the plugs to much and then you loose Canbus network.
That controller is for hydro functions but is also network bridge.

Thanks for the reply.
in the end the maindealer came out and proclaimed that there are 20 or so 5 volt sensors on a 540-170 and if one goes down they all go down and that it would be a matter of checking them one by one, obviously not with a multi meter for correct voltage at connection but by replacing them one by one!.
So they changed the joystick (obviously first hit at €1,000) then a few steering sensors, all to no avail.
Anyway it turned out the tray under the body of the machine was full of mud which had caused moisture to get into a connection.
seems the main dealer computer cant access the nodes of the sensors like in a car dealership.

Hope this helps some poor soul on a wet winters night. needless to say we are not paying for the trial run of sensors changing.
