Looking for a 5 ish tonne digger for general farm duties, more specifically fencline prep hedgerow coppicing, not a huge budget (sub £20k) there's a 8055 and a 8065 available locally, anything to look for if/when I go and have a butchers, or are they to be avoided at all costs. Any other machines to look out for?

We've got a nice 8050 RTS which we've used to do the groundworks and landscaping on our own smallholding which we've now finished. It's got low hours (1500) and been regularly serviced. Too good to bung in a sale. Would keep it just to clean the buildings out but it would be a waste as wouldn't use it often enough. Very reliable and never had any problems with it. We are hoping to get £18k for it. (plus VAT). We're down in Dorset though, so I guess that's too far :-(

If it's the machine in thinking of add to that list a main hyd hose which runs under the engine. I think you can just get to see it from a certain angle but it's an engine out or at least nearly out job to change and fairly common.
Budget wise probably a fair machine for the money but imho arm geometry isn't the best.

I’d travel double that for the right machine if I was you. Sounds very genuine and you could spend a lot more than 6 hours repairing another if you don’t travel for this one. I’ll butt out now
Yeah, I'm not terribly frightened to travel but only considering things at the minute, and don't want to waste folks time too much, just wanted to know if they're a heap of trouble generally speaking, I know I'm on the worn end of the scale money wise.

The hunt is over, this turned up the other day and just in time, had a water leak the next day hardly had time to fuel it up, just need some big snips for it now.
