JCB 8330 Fastrac . Anyone running one

Going by the replies and PM s im getting the 8330 isn’t as good as I hoped it would be which is a shame . There does seem to be quite a few for sale with low hours on !! We’re going to have a demo and see what we think .

Why are people not prepared to write on the forum about the 8330 Fastrac? The JCB fan club is very strong here but don't let that deter anyone from posting.

Whats making you want to shift away from your big JDs? I think they'd be hard to beat and don't look too expensive used. That or a artic tractor if you want equal sized wheels.

Getting a demo is best idea. Experience the fastrac difference!

Yesterday lunchtime the demo 8330 arrived for our demo and we have it until Monday , Pecks JCB know how to do a proper demo none of this you can have it for a day and dont work late rubbish. Both of my boys (19-21 years old ) have been arguing for the last 3wks about who’s driving it and what they are going to try it on , you know what young lads are like if it’s new big and flash they want it . Yesterday afternoon they both had a good go and got to grips with it . This morning they were both starting early so when I got to yard they were both already gone off to do their jobs . The JD 7310r was gone as was our 8360r the JCB was left behind . I had to go and pick up a new machine today (80mile round trip ) I took my 6210r . !!!!!!!!!!!

Well fudge pie with double fudge topping on top. Can't have a fairer assessment than that...

PS we all want a job at your place now.

It doesn’t pull anywhere near as well as our 7310 r the kit it would pul you don’t need a tractor that is so physically huge . It will do 70k on the road but apart from a trailer what would you put on the back that you could or want to go that speed with ? . On paper it seems a good concept in reality it’s not . I think the 4000 series would be a different story but this big one is not really suited to anything .

The 7310r is a fantastic tractor a really good all rounder but I have to be honest it’s not the most reliable tractor we have owned .

Are they things you could look out for on second hand
one or are the problems undetectable until they materialise?
Apologies for going off thread but seem good value
compared to the biggest 6000 series.

We have had our fair share of oil leaks ,!the rubber coupling between the engine and gearbox failed 1000hrs before it should be replaced but the biggest thing was a new engine ECU and then a set of injectors .

Like it or not when you have a tractor on demo for the weekend surely better to put hours on someone else’s tractor
Nothing is really that bad to drive any more

Im not familiar with the 7R series, is it able to put its power to the ground or did you buy it for PTO work?
7R needs weight and big tyres to get full use of the power but that can be removed and it’s fine for lighter work and carting . Ours does most of its hours on a 6m combi drill but it’s weighted up and the moment on heavy draft work . I would happily have two 8r s but they are just to heavy drilling if it comes wet .

So in ONE afternoon all 3 of you managed to spend enough time getting to know the machine, tried it with implements to see what it would pull, tried it on haulage duties and all came to the conclusion that it was so bad that you’d all use your own tractors??? Am I missing something??? What was better about the 6210r that made it preferable to the Fastrac for an 80 mile round trip? What implements wouldn’t it pull?
