JCB Fastrac 155-65 engine problem

Hello.
I have an oppurtunity to buy 155-65 with a broken crankshaft. Seller wants 8k euro for it,but I could negotiate less.
How about those gearboxes. Are they really so unreliable and fragile?
How can I make sure that rest of the tractor is ok and if it is worth buying?

How many hours has it done? make sure it goes through all the gears on the stick

Tbh, didn't ask about hours.
Repair is estimated at around 4k, but a mechanic could come and do it cheaper.
I hope to go and see the tractor in person to see what else is wrong with it apart from the engine.

2000+vat will get you a short motor. O'Hara machinery 02877750572 I think they have one with trans issues but a good heart.
