JCB Fastrac 2135 Dash goes pixelated and into a limp mode

JCB Fastrac 2135

Having a issue when starting dash goes pixelated and whole machine goes into a limp mode only move in low and reverse.

When you turn key to first part of ignition no lights on the dash. Eventually it might start perfectly and not play up again for a while. But its sods law it always does this at the worst possible time.

Be grateful for any help or advice on this

check all multi pin plugs tight and clean. had this sort of problem with a massey

This is a long shot! Did you get to the bottom of the problem?

Well if anyone else comes looking , if you've checked all the connections the dash is squiffy.

In a fit of genius the dash must talk to the transmission controller to get medium and high range.

I eventually tracked the fault on my dash down to a dodgy solder joint on one of the chips on the board.

Unfortunately in the process of going squiffy it beggars up the program in the eeprom.

I now have a download of that if anyone gets as far as needing it , replaced the old eeprom with a new programmed eeprom and it now all works but me head
