530-70fs, 1998, Usually use JCB's own oil for transmission, and axles/hubs. Drums are about empty, what does everyone else use? A good equivalent?

The transmission oil is morris ct10
But atf dextron 3 will do just aswell.

Axles should be fine with morris jdf although its not as thick as the hp plus. If a newer machine or one in hard use and perhaps not getting changed as regular as it should then i would use the hp plus.

The hp plus and manitous axle oil does seem to be there own special blend. I have not found anything thats the same only stuff thats similar or claims to be but in practice never is.

If a heavier oil than JDF is required but to an equivalent performance specification, then their Super Versitrac is the oil.

Never put atf fluid in transmission, that's what the ops manual says!

Atf dextron 3 is perfectly fine. Jcb used standard atf for many many years till they when to the ep10 special trans fluid which is nothing special at all its just morris ct 10 TO4 spec or T02 spec cant remember which now but it says it on the can and its a caterpiller spec.
Atf 3 is more than fine for the job although there will be very little in it price wise so what ever is to hand or easier bought.

Tried that but its still not even close to same viscosity. Also tried tbx and again its thinner.

I rebuilt a manitou dana spicer axle brakes and diff. Shell s4 txm and LS90 were no good in it brakes squeeked and the limited slip diff was locked solid. I knew i had done nothing wrong rebuilding it as theres nothing to get wrong. Limited slip diff isnt even shimmed and the pack come complete cable tied together ready to fit. All you do is soak pads over night and fit.
Changed oil for manitou special axle oil and problem instantly cured!
It was that bad before you dare not drive it for fair of snaping a half shaft or something!
