That's in my book too . . . but not on my digger arrgh! Found this after getting the ram off and investigating the lower jaw. Hole one side, roll pin showing on the other.
Can't imagine why they would drill through such a thin piece of casting and put something in it that needs to be hammered out.

May not be original, but it it protruded would it not hit that metal below when turning?... factory design error and bodge?
