Jcb teletruk forklift

Hi thinking I need one as they look handy....
Are they as good as a normal forklift our old forklift is coming to the end of its life, im liking the boom idea just to give a bit more reach

Anyone running one here
Are they reliable or throw in out of the blue faults...

Any info kindly received

Thanks

I looked at this a few months ago, decided to go with a forklift. Teletruks are twice the price especially if you need a 4wd one which realistically most farms would. The traction on a 2wd is awful especially unladen as they are very rear end heavy. Reach would be the only advantage.

I love the reach idea as that is what forklifts lack

Manitou do a similar idea I might pursue that avenue a bit more and weight up the pros and cons....

ive owned 3 in the past all 2.5 ton diesels certainly no good off road in mud but on solid ground ok , the weight is all on the back and traction limited if no load on but you can get them with a type of hydraulic "diff lock" with helps allot and extending the boom out moves weight to the front to aid traction also even with no load on the forks , we used ours with snow plough to clean the yard so not a basket case in slippery condition by any means and compared to a conventional ind truck on soild tyre they are way better.
maneuverability reach and flexibility are outstanding in tight yard loading and unloading trucks from one side is so much easier .
we even had toe tip bucket and could load the highest walking floor trailers with it .
very handy in workshop for lifting etc
we had no real mechanical problems with them , a radiator needed replacing, overheating due to the radiator picking up rubbish would be the biggest issue so head gasket issues really .
the 4x4 ones will probably have been worked far harder in recycling plants that seem to run them a bit.
manitou and others do a smaller machine but its considerably bigger than a 2.5 ton teletruck .
working in them is easier than a normal ind fork truck I would say the cab tips up easy once its up access is as good as allot of machines and considerably better then some not a big deal and no worse than standard Manitou i would say
if I needed another I would have no hesitation in buying one either new or used.

Thank you very much for that
It's certainly ticked a few more of my boxes in the overall general use in tight yards limited space

Thanks
