Found our problem, thanks for all the advice.shaft seals are allowing air to get sucked in,shame really as the pump works fine but upon dismantling the pump body itself the input shaft has grooves in it where the seals run so new seals won’t cure it....ah well it’s only my money! Pump is a Parker 9142N C4400001 101063 20/918600 if anyone knows where to get one aside from jcb.sat our old one in the vice and filled it with oil and it’s running through even when not rotating.
Sorry looks like your Parker hyd pump is only available for a JCB dealer. I doesn't look any special. Personally I would bother unless it's mega bucks try and repair it.

Got a bit of a problem with it putting air into the hydraulic oil....anyone had this at all...gone through the suction side of it thoroughly and a bit stumped at present.it will shoot oil from the raised up breather after a few minutes of high engine rpm...and with inspection cover off the tank it is foaming and blurting air into the tank from the looks of it.

That is a valid point someone else said about hyd tank breather. Although jcb tend to let air in tank easy enough but then has to overcome a valve in cap to let it back out so tend to run with pressure in tanks. Not sure what breathes on a TM270 though but take a look at it cause might be part of your problem.

got it sorted today, shaft seals were the definite problem,i fetched two single lip seals,£4.80 and fitted them, all fine.unsure whether they will last but at least I am certain of the problem, all behaving normally now,no jerky movement and no fountain from the hyd breather!,all good,mr happy has me a pattern pump found at a good price too if I want to fit new.originally it has a double lip type seal, and this has left a groove in the input shaft so the single lip ones are sitting in a different place on the shaft and all good at present, whether it lasts remains to be seen...not a lot to lose by trying it for a few hours.

Got 30e massey that does exactly the same. Checked all suction side and cant get it fixed. Made an extra oil expansion tank cause couldnt keep enough oil in her to operate the loader but would like to fix her right if any1 has any ideas or seen this in one of them b4
r.ead above, your massey sounds similar, could hear our hyds sounded a little funny too and a bit jerky, world of difference now!,removed pump to find the problem and held it in the vice, filled with oil and it ran out slowly behind the gear.

Of cause if you didnt want the extra 25ish odd litres a minute that pump would give out you could just blank the timing case off and blanket the pipes and carry on?

You'll still have 80odd litres a minute on the main pump.

right, thats worth knowing,it doesnt do brakes and steering exclusively then,i did wonder as they both feed into the same block.the priority valve sorts that out...every days a school day!its much faster and smoother now anyway,a bit like the engine and starting of it!thanks.

well assuming its the same set up as the TM300, both pumps are Tee together. the main pump feeds a steering/brake priority valve so blanking the aux pump would have no effect on that just make the main hydraulics a bit slower overall.
