JD 1360 float springs setting

I was looking for some advice, got a new to us 1360 mower for this year and have been going through it to make sure its set up right before its needed but have had some difficulty with the float. Set it per the book (I thought) with 90kg on the left and 70kg on the right measured with bathroom scales. Took it to the field and it was nothing like it! Barely in contact with the ground at any point.

Does anyone have any better advice for setting it up?

Put it back to how it was when you got it

Hitch height is crucial on these mowers, also adjusting the bed pitch alters the spring pull as well.

Should feel like lifting 70kg+ when it's in working position. Standing at end lifting by guard. Maybe different to scales weighing 70?
