Afternoon All….. our old trusty 580 of 1997 vintage has eaten its first set of top roller bearings. No fire thankfully and caught in good time.

looking for hints and tips on the best way to get them done. I assume you have to pull the shaft and drop the roller with the door open?

advice appreciated

Do you mean the top drive roller? Assuming it's the same as the old 545 you just do them one at a time leaving the roller in situ,

If it's the top idler, on the 545 you removed the bolt on either end of the roller and it just drops out with the shaft inside it.

Thanks, I’m not so sure it’s the same. I’ll take a pic later….. on with chopping grass at the minute……
