JD 6130r or Valtra G135v

G series Valtra is definitely dyna 6 in hitec spec but I think the op was talking Vario? Not sure what the JD was, probably powerquad?
You need to compare like for like as others have said. The Valtra would be more compact and nimble with a Quicke loader which is much better than JDs offering. There are Valtras around with massive hours on them so no worries there. Horses for courses and dealer back up will be important.
John Deere is autoquad , Valtra is powershift , which if believe is the same as MF dyna 6

Will they both pick up two haylage bales without needing a rear ballast weight?

Will they both carry a 4 fur plough? (A proper plough like a Kuhn, not a lightweight pretend one like a KV)

Will they both haul a trailer with 15 tonne of straw up hill and down dale?

Which one let's you see best what the loader is about to destroy as you try squeezing into the shed built in the 1970s when a Massey135 was huge?

Which one has auto gear change, the 4wd and diff lock buttons somewhere you can find before it's too late?

Which one has an electric joystick on the armrest, or a shonky loose cable stick somewhere over by the steering wheel?

Which cab has room for your lunch bag, the 3 year old child, and the Collie dog? And will the Collie be able to eat your lunch without you noticing?

G series is a a little smaller and lighter than a 6130 goat, but until you drive them both, how will you know if you need the size?

Is the G series the Chinese made one?

We were in the same position in 2014 we were running a new jd 6830 (2years oil) and wanted to trade NH TS115 for jd 6430 with loader . Visited local Valtra dealer for a look and they had a N111 with Loader basically exactly the same spec as the JD we were looking at but 10 grand cheaper so we went valtra we’ve added a valtra n121to the team since. Neighbour has bought a ex demo valtra G125 with loader and they like it but not so sure I do I prefer gear levers.

The Valtra should be a lot less money than the JD at the moment. I know you can buy a G135 hitec with loader all singing and dancing, full suspension etc for late 60k at the moment and that comes with 4 years / 2000hr warranty. I would think the JD would be over 100k. Will the JD always be worth an extra 30k or as my old father used to say is it going to earn you any more money?

As above, if your using it for loader work the main question is which one has the best visibility, no good if you can’t see the implements properly on the front.
I’d say valtra probably best loader tractor.
Why do people get so hung up on Chinese made engines ? The iPhone I’m on now , china made. Don’t hear people questioning the quality of Apple stuff.

What is going to be getting done with it, is an important question!

If you have a plough it must lift it out of wet ground going up hill and turn it on a steep headland but if you don't, it won't matter. Likewise with lifting 2 haylage bales and hauling 15t of straw.
Important features if you need them, if they won't be used it's just overkill.

Valid points, maybe I should be more clear Loader work , feeding cattle, ie 2 bales of haulage / silage at a time, and auger bucket work. fencing post knocker work with protech 400kg hammer, bit of trailer work with a 24ft trailer, grassland work, cutting, tedding, topping etc, no baling. Little bit of subsoiling and ploughing - no more than 20-30 arces a year. The 6130r would cover it, would the lighter bodied G135v?

60k!!! With trade in maybe? Where’s your dealer? Send me the number. I was quoted 25k on that for a straight purchase.

I’ve experience of both makes not that size the old n101 which would be similar to the G. In Valtras the N I more like the 6130r.

Never buy a Hitech they are the same as the JD Ms only terrible things you wouldn’t even think they are the same brand of tractor to the Advanced version of the same brand.

Still buy the JD the only valtra to buy are the bigger N’s and the Ts both are out classed by the Deere on every level.

My dad has had valtras since i was younger and when I went out on my own I got a NH and then JD didn’t even consider the Metallic Zetor’s

Nothing wrong with the chinese made goods if the materials used are of the correct specification and the quality control processes are robust.

Apple have sufficient volume to conclusively say they don't really have any obvious quality issues not sure I would say the same about Valtra?

But why buy Chinese stuff if something Else is available

We have a 6130 and don’t particularly like it as a loader tractor, too big and numb with poor visibility but I would still have it over anything Chinese made.
It's only the engine that's Chinese, cab is valtra's, wherever they get them made, gearbox is Gima and comes from France. It's all bolted together somewhere in Finland

Oh, apart from say, the electrics, them be Chinese, probably from same factory that Deere uses for supply

Or the computers that make the engine and gearbox work, they'll be made in China, like the ones Deere use......

And yet sell a fraction of what JD sells.
