My husband died in a farm accident this year. My accountant advises selling off machinery over 1/2/3 years to lessen the tax implications. How do I find out the best order to do this or do I just ask a dealer? I presume Combine should not sit around unused for long? I have a potential purchaser for the JD 6150m tractor. Is it best to ask two different dealers for a price and go for the middle ground? Apart from its V5 is there any other info needed to go with it?
Apologies for the vagueness of this post.

I would take more advice, there was a thing were you could sell everything once in a lifetime at a set tax rate but the business must stop. I know what it was called but unable to spell it so apologies, "utrapanals relief"?

My mate had a 2015 6150m on loan from a dealer last week and I believe it had clocked 6000hours and he was asked to insure that one for £44000 but that would be a dealers asking price with 3 months parts and labour warranty but price it would be sold for could well be less than that.
