Hi All

I have seen the below come up for sale and have sent an email to the seller to ask foir miore information, but I am equally interested to understand what the below tractor would be worth in your opinion, were they any good, what is the achilies heal etc?

JD 6410 Premium 2001
Front linkage with the john deere joystic next to the gears
Power quad 24 speed gear box
40 k
Left hand reverser but the electric one as its the premium tractor
Tires front 10 - 15 % rear 15 - 25 %
10,037 hours

Are they likely to be knackered and I should walk away if genuine seller, or are they a decent old tractor?

Ran one to 14,000 hrs from new in 11 years. Did have a new engine when balancer shaft went in the original one. Worth more with the TLS front axle suspension.

A lot more than the £6500 fake ebay add is asking

There are two adverts - and they both seemed too good, hence why I asked here for this particular unit ;)

Its a bloody minefield - as it appears it is a genuine tractor though, as it is showing as taxed on Gov website, so must belong to someone...

There was one advertised on Facebook with 10000 hours on last week but it was a rare 50k version with They wanted £24,500 for it which I though was enough money. I would say around £20k would be about right.

6410 on a Y plate here with 6000 ish hours. Been a good tractor. 600 rears and 540 fronts it will travel as light as any on soft ground. A Good, all round size for anything from hedgecutting to drilling and muckspreading.

Them photos with the 6410 with the class baler on the lawn have been around for a few years......bit like the storry of my friend spotting a baler he had sold on Ebay turning up for sale a year or two later using his original photographs.

Spent hours and hours in one, cracking little tractor and I'd do it all again. Took her from 8500 to 10500/11000 I forget, with not a spot of bother. Helish power, cracking turning lock and very good on ground Worth noting that I hate JDs ;)

Of course it's a minefield if you think you will get a bargain JD tractor off ebay:banghead:
Both those ads look way dodgy ,just take 15k to your local JD dealer and ask
them to find one.
6410 is a good tractor but a badly maintained one will be a money pit.

Apologies, a simple question was asked to coroborate my own personal feelings due to my lack of knowledge on tractors...

I'm not from a farming family as the ones who know me are aware, and when there are 3 of these currently for sale, two with loaders at circa 11k, and this one without loader, it is a question worth asking to see if I have missed anything.

Maybe I'll stick to pm'ing the people I have come to respect on here so I can keep the sarcastic know it all bulls**t out of the equation.
