JD 6430 fuel filters

May sound like a bit of a strange one, but our JD6430 which we bought second hand seems to have the wrong fuel filters, the secondary one turns out from cross referencing on the net is a 30 micron filter when it should be a 2 micron one, and is the primary one off of a 6930! The six cylinders use larger filters but have the same diameter, just wondering if they'll fit onto the housing or not as presumably the larger they are the better the filtration?

Secondly should the primary or secondary do the filtering for water? Reason I ask is that the wrong one has a glass bowl on it presumably for visually monitoring what the old girl is running on? Glad I looked into this as shes being giving a bit of jip, presumably common rail injectors like to have properly filtered cherry....... Not sure if the damage is done though?

Double check the pipe work for which direction the diesel flows in to the HP pump - you may have it backwards . The Secondary filter is not nearest the HP pump.

First thing I’d do is buy the correct genuine JD filters for that model, and as said above double check the direction of fuel flow, glass bowl should be on primary filter

Turns out Timbo was right, followed the pipes through and what I thought was the primary isn't. The primary sits at the front, the secondary behind and that's got a 30 micron filter on.... eek. Primary filter is right but its a 6 cylinder 30 micron, figure bigger filters are better in this case. Correctly ordered secondary filter now! Problem with my local JD dealership is they've got parts wrong in the past because they look up the wrong engine code because only since 2017 does the vin bring up the exact machine, just my experience anyway!

Petition: Temporary Ban on agricultural use of sewage cake

In order to protect our land, we’re seeking a temporary ban of the agricultural use of sewage cake until better testing and treatment of waste can be proven. We call on all farmers after this harvest to refuse to accept any more until things change.

Some research suggests that the contamination of land is far more serious than just heavy metal build ups. There is an increasing amount of micro plastics and forever chemicals appearing in sewage cake. We think testing for these when it leaves the processing plants isn’t adequate, and that processing needs to adapt to be able to remove these contaminants.
