JD 6430 vs 6130r

The 130r is much quieter in the cab due to DPF . Much smoother on road due to longer wheelbase and greater weight and more able on combi drill etc due to greater lift capacity . If ordered with swivel fenders and the stops wound in the turning circle is also very good . The panoramic roof if specced is great for high loader work too compared to the glass sun roof on 30 series however the chuffin great bonnet is not good for low level loader work compared to the 30 series , infact that is the only place where the 30 series is better IMHO other than residuals which are excellent on 30 series but if buying 2nd hand that may lean you to the r series . I just bought a second r series as a second tractor as it was cheaper than the equivalent 30 series

Is the panoramic roof a no cost option?
It looks lesser than the full roof.

I have it on my 6125r which I had new in 2015 , from memory I think it was £400 ish but you do get roller blinds front and rear as part of the option.

Reading the above does it not make an M series attractive? Will they hold value like 30series? I would like to upgrade my 6320 to something a bit more powerful but loathe to change to something that will cost more to run or be more troublesome, thinking of 6130/40m.

Can't really imagine an M being any more or less reliable than an R , the only real difference is lack of boost and a smaller cab with smaller doors , something that some may prefer , the rest just comes down to how they are specced

We traded in our 6430 premium for a 6130R 18 months ago. As has been mentioned the 6130R is a bigger, heavier machine. Cab is nicer and we are pleased with the tractor. We had a 6140M on loan from the dealer for a week while they did recall work on ours. The cab layout was more similar to the 6410 we had before the 6430 and we missed the R series features. The 6430 are a damned good tractor but if they are worth as much as a 6130R, take the 6130R.
