Got a year 2000 JD 6610 premium. Recently when you engage the diff lock the diff lock light comes on .after about 10 seconds the diff lock light starts to flash and it disengages the dif lock.to stop the diff lock light flashing you have to put the diff lock back in and then push the brake pedal
. anybody got an idea ear how to make make-up the diff lock work properly

The Diff lock will disconnect if you press a brake pedal. I can't remember when it was introduced, but the newer ones disconnect at around 12Kmh and above.
Have you looked in the BCU for error codes?? There's an explanation towards the back of the operators manual..

Dif lock disengaging on a JD certainly predates the 40 series

From what you said it sounds like the fuse and switch are working. I would swap the solenoids from diff lock to pto and then retry- they do fail and give these kind of symptoms. 3 minute job easy to do.

Thank you for all your help I've just swapped the diff lock coil from a 6410 and seems to be working fine now
