Hi
I think my 6620 commonrail is still sucking air into the fuel system, I've changed fuel pipes and o ring on the water separator, is there anywhere else it can pull air in from
Cheers

When stood or running? I changed the filters on my 6920 the other day and now it doesn’t like starting. I have taken filters off and put back on, all looks good. Replaced a couple of porous pipes and put in a non return valve (try this) and it’s better but not right. Which o ring on water separator are you talking about?

It seems to misfire both when stood and working, seems better when replaced pipes but still does it, the o ring between the filter and sediment bowl

Do you think it might be the lift pump
My 6620 has a lift pump mounted in the chassis and sucks the fuel through the 30 micron filter and pushes it through the final 10 micron filter. Assuming you have the same setup see what comes out of the final filter. Then try another suction pipe straight into a can of fuel.

Yeah mines the same but I wondered if it might be getting weak and not sucking enough fuel
There were upgraded pumps fitted, twice the capacity with a return fitted before the final filter, much better than the poxy original. Remove the final filter and turn on the ignition and see what flow you have.

Is it flashing that code intermittently?.

Simple test.. sounds odd tho. Sit and rev the engine up and down 1200rpm wot to 2100rpm. Does that preheat light start flashing and the code start again?. If yes. Suction control valve is sticking or injectors are leaking or rail relief is opening.

The code means the rail pressure is 750psi below expected pressure.

Check the rail relief.. on the fuel rail the relief is the long 19mm hex with the small steel line on a 90 degree fitting. Remove the small pipe and run the engine and give it some revs. It shouldnt leak fuel from the relief out of the rail. If it does replace it.

If thats ok.. most probably its your injectors leaking when they are closed and thats why the rail pressure is low cos the injectors are dribbling.

Also leaking fuel lines can cause this issue and rhe suction control valve cost a fortune now so maybe test with a known good unit.
