JD Combine vibration

Have a 9780cts and have quite a bad vibration. Think it’s from the countershaft gearbox or shaft just behind the cab. Have checked that it’s not a belt with a flat spot.
Has anyone had a similar issue and been able to resolve it?

check that the pulley is tight on the shaft the key ways can ware

Had the same with a C670, in the end we traced it to one of the rotors being out of balance.

Be careful because it doesn't take long for the main frame of the combine to start cracking up around where the rotor assembly bolts in to place.

This is probably a daft thing to point out; but if you are running it up now have you got the grain tank lid open? If it is shut that will cause a lot of vibration from the bubble up auger. It shouldn’t be run with the lid shut.

Our cts used to vibrate badly after a trip up the road or being stood for a while . It was caused by the muck and dust falling from the top side of the drum and rotors , this threw the whole thing out of balance until it evened itself out . Cloud also be a bent overshot beater shaft .

As above we have had to replace the overshot beater bar once due to it being bent. Caused a very bad vibration.

Yes grain lid is up. Problem from the summer. Winter job to try and rectify it.

Hadn’t thought of that one. Did you trace by disconnecting drive to rotors.

Yes, I think there was a bent tooth on one of the rotors but can't remember now.

Intermittent vibration when chopping or when the straw gets to the chopper the vibration starts so it’s coming off to have a look. Found one blade Loose but surely that wouldn’t be it so sent of to be balanced. As well.

Comin from the back arrangement of pulleys. Aligning the pulleys better and belt idlers. Belt idlers jumping around a fair bit.,, so guess I’ll be working on that two.
