Has anyone experience cutting Linseed with JD S680i and can recommend any settings or advice.

I can't readily remember what settings I used in my S690. I'll look them up & get back to you. IIRC;
Small wire concaves in the front 2 sections of the rotor + at least 1 deawner.
Tight concave at around 3-5mm.
Bottom sieve shut right down.
All the retractable fingers out of the header auger - we strapped a cardboard tube to the centre to help the elevator chains grab the straw & it didn't matter if it fell off. Some people leave 1-2 fingers in the auger just to grab it.
New knife.
Don't forget a hot sunny day! If it won't feed, park up & walk away. One day it will just fly through it. All other days it will wrap around everything
Yup, used to gaffer tape the holes up too. Don't let the header get rusty in the showers either.....Is it really that bad that you need to take the fingers out??
Not IME but perhaps I have just been lucky.......Is it really that bad that you need to take the fingers out??
Waiting for sunny day at moment (I may be some time!)
Will give it a go when I have a chance and as suggested walk away if no likey
Spring sprayed off month ago.
I have had no experience with linseed but l well remember a Claas combine expert saying to me about picking a sunny day for the job and as for cutting that stuff towards evening : "When the sun turns red you go home!"I can't readily remember what settings I used in my S690. Have you grown it before?
Last time about 7 years ago with an axial flow, not to many problems if I remember but was the year my brother died and he was always the combine driver.
Go at it as hard as you can. 3 de-awning sections in at the front, rotor flat out, small wire concave, 1-2mm threshing clearance, accelerator fast. Bottom sieve set to use re-thresher hard, wind and top sieve to requirement. Keep her loaded, no need to mess about with fingers etc on the header
How did you all get on with yours? Had a go at mine last night but I can't thresh it well. Lots of bolls in the sample and seed in the straw. The returns just keep overloading. The one good thing is that it hasn't wrapped yet...
Rotor flat out
Concave fully closed
Small wire concaves in
2 deawners fitted
Top sieve 14
Bottom sieve 5 though this makes little difference
Header stripper plates set very tight
Low yielding crop
The crop was quite wet so I suspect this is the main problem. Nice sunshine & breeze yesterday afternoon. 1mm rain last night has fecked the job until at least lunch time.
Hoping my friendly neighbour is coming over with his 2 Axial Flows once he's done his 50 acres...
