Personally I think the 1050 is a step down from your 1100. Drum size is the main thing.

Il give you an example, my father is very reserved, he's a calm and calculated man. But the 2 x 1100's we have now. 1 main machine and 1 reserve machine, tweaked and running as the main machine is with our MF 7495 up front. This year he had a look at the neighbours 50ft rows that a contractor would be lifting and said he wouldn't be fast at it but would be confident to face them with his set up.

I can't disagree with you but there are very little 1100s to choice from,nothing fresh. I only bought the 1050 because It was cheap,similar type harvester from a dealer is 12k plus.problem with very big sward is with harvester travelling slow it tends to pull in the grass a couple of feet in front of the reel,bigger chance of blockages
