Wouldn’t it be more sensible to say it’s open to everyone & then just choose who they really want, why make trouble when you don’t need to.

Yeah I mean on the face of it it does appear to be unlawful positive discrimination... although it might just get away with it by not specifying a particular characteristic and including 'lower socioeconomic backgrounds', which isn't a protected characteristic (and would include most farmers....!).

Most media type people I have met (which isn't many) were white posho urbanites... so this broader recruitment isn't necessarily a bad thing. It could well encourage people with rural backgrounds being recruited.

This advert cannot be genuine, if it is , it is certainly illegal

I think you will find that it is not illegal, as it is not offering a job here per se, but advertising / offering a trainee position for one of the alleged minority groups. This is one of those rediculous loop holes to cover the obvious elephant in the room, whereby if it was the other way - all hell would be played!!

I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be legal to say “This opportunity is only open to White British people”.

Make of that what you will….
Correct.

White male is the most discriminated group...
But you can not complain or you will be branded racist .

Lots of black groups, women only clubs, whatever sexual apart from straight groups.

Try and have a men only group...
