John Deere 456a Bale Tension Problem

Hi,

Just after some advice on my John Deere 456a conventional baler. It is fitted with the hydraulic bale tension system, but unfortunately the drive chain that drives the hydraulic pump seems very slack and keeps coming off every few bales. I have tried to tension the chain again by adjusting the pump mounting bracket but with no luck. Just wondered if anyone had come across this before?

I run a 456a .
I assume you cant get enough adjustment?.
Maybe you need a new chain, if that's the case or theres a bearing failure on the drive sprocket, that's taking all the adjustment?

Replace the hydraulic rams with some old springs off a scrapped baler, best thing I did with my 459, hydraulic tensioning on a small baler is an unnecessary complication, just another thing to go wrong at a crucial time.
