Hi, is anybody out there who knows how to access the command centre in technician mode to calibrate forward clutch which is a bit harsh? Thanks in advance

Get dealer to recalibrate and if that fails there's a valve that controls the clutch that can be replaced from outside reasonably easy that will normally sort. I think my dealers techs call it a Fema valve.

Thank you, dealer calibrated a few months ago as it was undriveable without being shot through the back window when going forward, reverse is fine, calibration helped a lot but still not right, its ok if you feather it withthe clutch pedal but if you forget it lunges forward....
@kill where abouts is this valve please? im no stranger to a bit of spannering.
@Phil P , its been on a loader before i had it, not sure about the quality of the back end oil, can it affect it? problem is only on forward clutch pack. Thanks

It’s the same clutch modulation valve for forward as as reverse so usually if just on clutch is going savage it’s a sign of an issue with that clutch. If both where going out of calibration I’d say it the valve. See if the oil is black and any signs of metal contamination.

@Phil P , both forward and reverse were jumpy before the calibration but more so the front by miles,, after the calibration reverse is very smooth and uses the full range of the pedal to engage and disengage, forwad is still a bit jumpy but if you feather it carefully on the clutch you can make it feel normal,,, as oppose to the reverse , the window of the engage and disengage is much smaller on the pedal, just in the middle... no clutch slipage and pulls like a train..
whats inside the clutch packs that can make it snatch harsher, are there any cushoning springs? Ive had knackered clutch packs before and they were either slipping or warped and binding.. thanks

Usually if they’re grabbing it can be either the modulation valve (usually will affect both clutch’s) or the pack is worn and is metal on metal. If it’s dragging that can be warped plates of broken cooler valve springs, it worth checking the cooler valves as a matter of corse. There’s plenty of threads on here about them.

Ps. just had a thought it’s worth pulling the modulation valve and checking the O-rings, I’ve known them to pop the top one off before now.

Personally I only put the genuine hy-gaurd in, I know a lot of people use the utto oil though and if it’s to j20c speck it should be fine.
