Do any of you know wether this tractor is capable of handling a 6 furrow plough.. Cheers

Probably be ok.tried my dowdeswell dp7d2 high and long clearance 5 furrow on one of the very early 6400 john deeres and it handled it ok as did a 6600 which i had on demo

Now of a 6830 that uses a 6 furrow Dowdeswell 140,don't know if ( it's had anything done to its hydraulics). Land used on resembles a beach

Up hill or down hill , I know a guy who ploughed all downhill , the only way he could pull the plough up hill was out of the ground in reverse.

6 furrow dowdeswell on fairly steep ground which is heavy on places

5 when dry 4 if greasy don't smear furrow bottom. Make a job of it. Or stay in shed.

the 68 did the job however I wouldn't want to go in a steep field with only 900kg on the front !

have you had the EGR turned off and remap the engine ? different beast when she`s 200 hp and a lot better on fuel and saves on those damm expensive Egr valves

It's a friends tractor and he is thinking about it as he has had enough of forking out for new valves all the time.. Is there anyone you can suggest who does it ?

5 furrow besson mounted on my 6830 but on tough ground it's struggling to drag it along without making a mess.

My theory is if your gonna spend the money ploughing you wanna make the best possible job of it.
