I’ve got a coolant leak from the base of the plastic header tank where it goes into the radiator on a John Deere 6930. A lot of people say it’s the O ring needs replacing.

I’ve never taken a tank off before and don’t want to break anything. Has anyone on here done it or got any tips? Thanks

You need to break a plastic clip with a long but if metal to get the old tank off it's one of them kind that go into a hole then expand so isn't possible to get out once in the hole

Clear as day !

There's a rubber O ring between tank and rad, plus two securing screws, one of which is a sod to remove.

Might have been a screw I can remember making a chisel out of flat bar to break something off . Mine was a cracked tank so it was getting replaced
