John Deere Park brake

Hi All
I have JD 6400 with no park ,brake, Linkage working OK to side of transmission, so problem must be in
side , Is this a big job to repair and how. Thanks

john deere's services time is 28 hours to do, last thing in the range box to come out about £300 in parts second hand parts at that Next time make sure the tractor is stopped before engagement :cry:

If the linkage is moving it will be one of 4 things -
1- the spring has snapped on the side of the gearbox (you should be able to see it moving the shaft the goes through the side of the transmission housing)
2- the roll pin is broken In the spring arm on the side of the gearbox (again you should be able to see it turning the shaft)

If the shaft is turning it will be

3 - the teeth have broken off the locking pawl
4- the lacking pawl support housing has snapped.
If it’s any of the above it requires the cab tilting and the removal of the powerquad, option box (if fitted), drop box, and finally the transmission housing.

Removal of the drop box should identify any internal damage,
I’ll be honest removing the range box isn’t a job for a novice!
