Recently noticed the bolts holding on the stabiliser bracket on the back axle loose , when tightened it became aparent the threads were stripped , drilled and tapped them m22 but they didn't hold , anyone any suggestions , don't really want to fit a new trumpet housing

Welder won't do, it is cast iron.
Helicoil is nice and easy but for something that heavily loaded I would rather get a locking thread insert. Downside is you likely need to remove the trumpet housing. On the other had you could check the brakes while you are at it.

Years ago we had this with a 7530. On that tractor there were spacers under the bracket for some reason, we took those out and found enough thread further into the housing. We used the stronger locktite on the thread. Seemed to work.

There's 2 or 3 set of holes is there not or is that the 7 series I'm thinking of?

Just put it on another pair
There's other holes but the cab suspension ram is also bolted to the stabiliser bracket . Could try engineer a plate and weld it to the u bracket and utilise the other holes . But the bracket itself kinda blocks the holes when it's in its correct position

I couldn't remember which it was I've added stabiliser brackets to both 6 and 7 series in the past
