Joining hoses for cooling system.

I hope someone can help, this problem cannot be unique.
This is a Ford 6810 with a water filter and a tap below it. A hose from top of engine runs to this tap.
The tap is leaking so on advice got a new tap. It was a bit of a fight but I got the tap fitted. Even used Ptfe tape. The
last job was to slide hose back on to tap. Only the male coupling on the tap is way bigger than the hose.
I guess I could get a piece of hose that does fit and secure it with a jubilee clip.
But how do I join together 2 hoses of different diameters?
I guess I will be told tomorrow the tap is all they have for this relic of a tractor so looking for a plan B.

Heat hose in boiling water, stretch over a cone and you’d be surprised what you might be able to achieve, 🤷🏼‍♂️ can’t see detail from your photo
Sorry just used the pics I had.
New pic below shows difference in the tap. One is helpfully conical, the new bigger one has a rolled end which adds something to the diameter.

Back with update. Our original tap is allegedly off a Ford 8210 according to parts chap. So they are ordering an identical one to what is on the trac and that means no hose issues I guess.
I had no idea in line adaptors were available for different sized hoses. Great discovery thanks.
Once I get trac going again I think I will see if original will repair.
