Can anyone recommend me a set of decent jump leads which will cope with jump starting a 6 cyl tractor etc? They want to be 8m long ideally. Thanks 👍🏼

Most of the ones you buy, supposedly heavy duty ? The cables appear thick ,but most often they have very little copper in them. You'll have to find seriously heavy duty welding cables.. 200 to 300,amp is not enough.. and heavy duty brass clamps, not some pressed tin ones.

Worst thing with them is the crimp between cable and clamp, that is generally quire shyte
Last leads i bought i soldered them together

Have these - not failed on anything yet - assuming the flat battery is good, but just discharged.

About £120.

If you actually want 8m cables, make them from welder cable, surely need to be 100mm2 cable at least, else the volt drop will make them un-useable at that length

Or buy the lithium battery starter pack that keeps popping up on amazon.
Link someone?

Exactly what I was going to suggest.

Haven't had a need for jump leads since buying my NOCO.

Never enjoyed using jump leads but the NOCO gives me a smile every time.

Thanks for the replies.

I think that I'll make my own set from welding cable or similar.

I did wonder about a jump pack, but I would need to remember to charge it up!

It does need charging - but not before every use.

Think of it like a mobile phone that you turned off between calls. Turn it on, make a call, turn it off again. The battery would last a long time and probably be able to many plenty of calls before it needs charging up again.
