Hi all
in the present climate, how’s things going regarding social distancing at work etc. what do you do on your farm.

On farm is quite easy, only one here apart from wife and adult children that are staying on farm.
Biggest problem is going out on heating breakdowns and going into peoples homes

Impossible to do much.

Visitors to work discouraged, not allowed in offices

No outgoing travel except to breakdowns and live livestock construction projects

Social distancing for all employees

Strict cleaning and drink making protocols

Hand gel sanitiser bought in industrial quantities

Virkon knapsack sprayer in every vehicle

We were due to have some groundworks carried out starting Monday, which were acceptable and exempt from restrictions.

The driver refused to use the hired in digger as it was not clean and fully disinfected. The banks man wanted to wipe all the rakes and shovels with anti bacterial wipes before use. Their boss had to hire an extra van so his men weren't travelling to site together and were having lunch separately. It came as no surprise on Tuesday when the boss closed the site down and removed all the plant from site.

Have locked one in his own tractor and told him not to come back until he has finished drilling. Bought the others their own pitchforks and handscrapers?

There is only me here. But we do have a labour and machinery share farming agreement with our next door neighbours.
Policy is strictly no sharing of driving any tractors or loaders. Trying to keep at least 2m apart at all times.

I agree and had no issues with the work being put on hold.
