Was told today that Kemble farms
Had sold there dairy herd

Is that correct?

He did an episode of countryfool on about keeping cows inside all year etc and totally slated the superb job that they are doing, I think the farm sign was in a few shots so it was obvious it was them. I was there not long before on a talk and I was very impressed with it.

It was a 900 cow herd with an AD plant attached, maybe 10 year old now...

Maybe the plant will be fed with crops rather than muck, if that's even possible with how the agreements are set up??

Velcourt have run it for 4-5 yrs now, presume they are still there ??

I believe that's correct, with all replacements sourced from Europe!

Most of the big herds in West Wales are from Holland/Germany

AD plant was built about 2008, went to see it before signing the contract for ours. Might be on RoCs rather than FiT. Used to be owned by a member of the Rank family of Rank Hovis McDougall
