Kerb

Still got mine to go, kerb and astrokerb. We'll probably add Falcon to this on some ryegrass areas which are now getting rather thick. I also have 0.2ltr of Difcor on the recommendation which we'll review prior to going ahead.

I hadn't done much before Christmas. Most was done last week. Another 37ha to do but it is waterlogged so will need another week to dry out.

All my rape needs Fox too. Hoping to get it done this week which is perfect for forecast frost next weekend.

Not done any here yet........all neighbours were going mad at it end of November at 10 + degrees:scratchhead:
We did about 25% of ours in late November, against our better judgement, but walked crops on Saturday, and it has done a great job! Now wished I had done more, as the remaining land is saturated and the blackgrass is twice as big. Every season is different.

I did mine in November looks to have done a good job
have done it this late before but on very small rape so this does not relate to this years crops

imho the idea of waiting for colder weather relates to the persistence
if it is done when it is warmer it still work on bg that is growing but just not on later germinating bg

the problem I have with kerb in januarry is will there be enough rain for it to work following application usually the 10 weeks to end of march are the driest 10 weeks of the year in 9 out of 10 years

I did a couple of fields with full rate Astrokerb before Christmas. One has bad annual meadow grass. It is still very much alive, with little bulbing at the root crown. I can't pull the growing point out either. Do I need to follow up with Laser?

No, its to early to see activity assuming you mean less than a month rather than pre xmas (November). Also how much harm is AMG going to do and is easy enough to control in the following crop. Can you afford Laser?

I'd rather not afford years of graminicides in following crops. Letting a few weeds set seed is one thing. Letting a lot of weeds set seed for the sake of £20 - 30/ha on Laser is another.

I'll leave it for a little while longer. I have Fox to go on soon anyway so it will be a while before I can get back.
