Keruing Hardwood Flooring

We got keruing boards from a wood yard in the 0151 merseyside area , Frodsham perhaps . Forgotten the name but the phone number is 0151 425 2525 . It's a year or two back now but the floor looks as if it will outlast the trailer . Expensive but worth it for a good job . Just one practical point if you aren't familiar with keruing . Watch out for splinters , because if you get one , it WILL go septic

Couldn't remember the name or any more details , apart from the general area . Our low loader was originally on softwood , which took a bit of a pounding with tracks and buckets . It was a two or three years back now , and it cost about £1,000 to put the floor in , materials only . Well worth it long term though, as it doesn't look a lot different now than it did when we fitted it . One of those times when you get what you pay for !

45mm keruing boards will be unbreakable but will break the bank. I would hazard a guess they were softwood and tbh softwood will be fine at 45 mm

If you're putting a low loader floor in , it will pay you to leave a half inch or so gap between the boards , this not only allows for expansion / shrinkage , but it allows water , mud etc to fall through the gaps . And it's no detriment to the floor at all .
