Kidd Post Driver - what are your thoughts?

Hi all,

Just after some reviews on the Kidd post drivers if anyone’s had any experience with them? They’re relatively new on the New Zealand market and are being marketed as the “UK’s best” etc.. yet I’m not actually able to find much in the way of real world use.
Hubby and I are in the market for a new post driver which will most likely be run between 2 properties, a smaller 10acre property and the bigger 1200 acre family farm. We have our Fieldays coming up this week so we will be loitering around all the post driver stalls, Fairbrother Kinghitter, Power Post Drivers etc but I’d love to hear from anyone who has/had/used a Kidd post driver.
Thanks :)

Cant really comment as I've only put two strainers in (poorly) with one but it was pretty hopeless. It's full spec top contractor model but ain't the best by a long shot. With the choice on offer of NZ post drivers I'd get a basic fence pro or fence quip before I brought a Kidd knocker

If I was in your position id just buy a king hitter I've found them as good as anything and light on the tractor.

I like the idea of the 180deg rotation of the Kidd. Most NZ post drivers are either a standard rear mount or side mount. I figured Kidds were either this new magical concept that hadn’t quite caught on yet, or they were rubbish 😂

Are Protech post drivers in NZ ?????. Very good machines. Didn't know Kidd made post drivers, !!!!!!!
Protech are in USA.

Yup they sure do. They generally come with a pretty hefty price tag here in NZ though. :-/
As for the Kidd, only one Ag store sells them and there’s very little info on them. The 180deg rotation is cool though.

I thought was a good idea too but it only works to 90°, then you need to swap over the ram and controls 🤦‍♀️

I've got a Protech P300s. 300kg weight, front hydraulic legs, rock spike, cracking machine, no effort to put big gate posts in.

I think Kidd drivers are actually Twyman machines painted blue. Like the Twyman hedgecutters, they didn't seem to be popular here in NI,for whatever reason. No experience of them myself.
I've a well worn Parmiter PPD200 ex contractor's machine here and there's not much it won't drive with only a 200kg weight, including 8'x12'' electric pole strainers.Full slew, telescopic reach and all angles. Still made by Shelbourne Reynolds.I see Waikato Tractors are dealers for SR.

Kidd are good value machines and wouldn't say there is anything wrong with them, but they arent even close to "uk's best". personally i would go for bryce suma as the best, but depends on the tractor, ground and use.
That’s really interesting to know. Cheers. I have seen the Bryce Suma’s and the small mortgage that goes along with them 😂 I have no doubt they’d be awesome, but I think we’ll be looking at a Kinghitter or Power Post driver.
