KTwo gone bust?

Anyone heard that redrock have bought ktwo?

Checked at companies house, all done and dusted now the director of redrock is a director of KTwo machinery ltd as of yesterday.

Can’t see any real problem with Redrock paint. Anything we’ve got/had seems fine.

I'm only ever grinding paint off & KTwo paint always seems to take about twice the time to grind back to bare metal than any other manufacturer whether its the paint itself, their painting process or their prep even on their older kit - it has always been decent which I attribute to the painters themselves - hence I was giving them shout out.
Painters are also usually one of the trades that suffer in a take-over with the effort to streamline & cut costs

Plenty of good businesses go bust - cashflow is the killer, I'd say KTwo made excellent products, sold at a price to compete with others so had decent market share, probably had a lot borrowed for the expansion, and were therefore perhaps more vulnerable to a downturn in sales and increased interest rates which very quickly spirals. A business with more reserve can weather a storm.

Did redrock buy the site as well or just the business and tooling

The site will be worth millions for redevelopment for commercial units or houses, if it’s owned by the old directors then I’m guessing selling the site will be a nice retirement payout. I doubt production will remain in an area that is expensive for rent and labour.

Be Redrock branded muck spreaders before long,I doubt the K2 name would carry on?
The K2 tipping silage trailers were bloody awful so hopefully they will scrap that design all together and continue with the Red Rock design.

It's great how they spin around. What was k2 worth though. Might not cost too much to buy them. May cost alot more to run it.

Brave move in current climate especially as they could have just started making muck spreaders anyway ……. You have to wonder who the hell is foing to buy a muck spreader apart from a big contractor these days anyway …..

Must be about 15 years ago. Bought out by what I assume is still the current owners. Sammy Hughes who was one of the people who started Redrock then set up Newrock. Don’t think thats trading anymore either.

the original Redrock went bust in 2010,
the owner of Steel solutions bought the factory and equipment and restarted as Redrock Machinery ltd.
Sammy started a new company with his son, trading as Newrock , but infact was DH Europe ltd
Sammy died 3 yrs ago and "Newrock" DH Europe closed shortly after.
