Have similar thread on machinery section sorry for the duplication. I’m down to deciding between kubota Kawasaki and John Deere. Well jd is running last due to price. Buying diesel only. Trading in my ranger.will miss the road speed but need something that will stay going instead of in the workshop!!! Kubota seems best package. Any thoughts??

Would you not give another Polaris a go as you seem like your going new this time so you'll have the benefit of2 year warranty. Your old one was out of warranty when you got it and may have been a bad one and why it was traded when it was out of warranty. I don't have any facts but I'm taking a chance for 2yrs and see how it goes

Why?

Seems JD are the same as most, dare you run them out of warranty.

Id say pick the one with the best dealer back up and if on flat land go for Kubota hydrostatic and if a bit hilly go for belt.

@Nithsdale Farmer ,did you have a Kawasaki? If so hows it going?

No sorry I've never had any of these buggys. A close friend has the old model Mule, and I looked at one once.. and another friend had a demo of the Polaris a few years ago (I went and had a go on it) but apart for that I've no experience of them.

Reason for not going for another Polaris is the dealer is 3hours away kubota dealer is 45 minutes and I already deal with them For balers. so know they are good for service. John Deere 15 minutes away but price is crazy

That's fair enough then I've gone to a dealer just over a hour away but with a reputation that goes before him rather than the local dealer. Got John Deere 10mins away and Kubota 15 mule about 25

My mate was looking at a mule or a gator.
He bought a Dacia Duster, heater, aircon, road speed , not much difference in price or insurance
The problem with buying a Jeep is it won’t travel in land in winter time we use jeeps in summer but need utv this time of year my father is 75 and it keeps him going doing all the feeding so to be honest the cost doesn’t come into it I’d be lost without him he goes to 13 different parcels of land each day and loves it

Id go kubota yes there a bit slower but it will do 40kph most of time on flat roads the thing i like most is the reliability and superb torque for pulling and going up very steep hills the one weak point they have is door handles and locks.

What is wrong with the door handles? Do they still do the sliding door on the Kubotas thought that was a good idea when it's windy

I have a 2009 rtv900. Bought 2 yrs ago. Best thing i ever bought. I was without it for months when the engine packed in. Have just fitted a new engine and can't praise it enough. I use a quad as well but the kubota is much more versatile, and comfortable in the wet weather. I am looking for a soft door kit for it. I can't comment on the other makes as i never tried any of them.

Agreed the locks and handles are a pain,we have modified ours.
