Kuhn 40.1 fert spinner

I’m finding that my Kuhn spinner seems to empty quicker on one side. I’ve checked the slide settings on both sides are the same and both agitators are working. I did think it was the way I filled it that I could be putting more in one side but you would think it would level up when driving to the fields. Anyone have the same problem?
Also any tip for getting the discs off ? I can’t loosen the big black plastic nuts!!
Thanks

Ours does it put it down to always turning left while doing the headland using the border limiter you to turn left all the time which in my mind at least throws the fert more to the right, are your two values for either side the same whilst spreading try putting one +\- to compensate

hydraulic slide controll or electric? Block one disc with a piece of wood, then you can open the plastic nut. Please dont tighten the plastic nuts with mechanical help, only with your hands in the future...

For checking the mechanic accuracy of the slides you can take the bolt from the lower link, the slide should be position 85 for measering . Look in the manual.

Need to try that with the pin in the slide we’ve put new actuators on and saw that in the installation instructions

Use the L shaped stainless rod supplied with the spinner (with a 30.1 at least) in the grooves on the nut.

And as for the agitator, sometimes they look fine with an empty hopper, but under a load of fert they can seize. There is a way to get them working properly again, but IIRC it means removing them and freeing it up in a vice with a stilson and oil.

Just done the pin check for setting 85 and seems ok. Tried to get the big plastic nut free too in order to do a measured flow check but I didn't want to break the thing before even got going! Are they pretty robust or brittle? I can jam the vane to stop it rotating but even with a 2ft bit of angle iron in the slot it doesn't want to shift? I have had it for about 10 years and never bothered to take them off before which may be something to do with it .......

It’s a reverse thread maybe?

Ours is similar, I think one side is 5 out so has to be opened differently.

Mine are electric actuators. I’ve done a mechanical check for accuracy and all is fine. I’ve also checked the actuators at different opening points and they are fine but thanks for your help

Someone else reckoned it was always going left that moved the fert over to the right of the machine but I’m not convinced!!
I did knock the left hand side down 5% which helped but having checked everything on the slides and actuators is the same then I should just have both sides set the same

I found it’s equal until about half full then the left opens up more

I held a fence post on agitators with it running. Both slowed down when I put pressure on them. Is this right ?

If you have done pin test on shutters and both sides read the same it can only be either agitator on one side or actuator calibration .
do both actuators sound ok when setting test points ?
try weighing 100 kg or as much as you can fit at one side without it over spilling into other side putting same amount in each side of spreader set a low application 75 kg /ha and go try a bit see if it is def spreading heavy to one side like I said has to be either agitator or lazy actuator

My spreader was about 7 out on the scale at one side to get it to empty even. I just adjusted the scale as it is slotted so both sides read the same. Perhaps not technically correct but its enough to keep my minor ocd issues in check!
