Havin a lot of trouble with a grouper i put on a fc 300,never got it goin since i put it on,have flaps right and hood up full inside, actuly tryed every way but can't seem too get it too row right, grass seems like its building up at the front of grouper which doesn't group cleanly, then if u hit a heavy patch of grass it will all gather up under mower,is there a way too speed up conditioner too maybe throw grass further on too belt? al so the belt on the grouper moves down the roller and jams it at the bottom ,tryed tighting belt and louseing it both the same, also i have too drive centre of a row of grass too get it too throw one row into the other, pump turned up full, its doin me head in,need all the help i can get on this one,due too very wet ground here the grouping suits us,the mower is cutting as well as a new one,so wood love too get it going right.

Can you get flights for the discs? It'll give it a better 'throw'..

Is the conditioner on the fast speed? If not you need to swap the conditioner pulleys. Did you take the curtain off the back of the mower when you fitted the grouper? Have you enough power in front of it to keep the revs up and the mower full? A JD/Kuhn grouper will only throw a sward beside the last one, if you want one on top of the other you need a Taarup

Never heard or seen flights on discs of a kuhn mower, are they some sort of caps or hats that sit on top of the discs?have heard something about the pullys before, will look into it,is one pully larger than the other so it would spin it harder?yes, curtain is off, tractor is 135hp,used 100hp one today in heavy grass which was ok only drive a bit slower, bad disign if it can't make one decent row, don't like driveing on the grass in our wet fiealds pushing the grass into the ground which a baler can't lift,

Sorry to tell you but they're crap! As said take curtain off and spreader flap should be made easily removed or taken off to give grass best chance of getting to the back/top of the belt. I always imagined the conditioner was catching the grass on bottom of belt and throwing it down onto ground

The 2 pulleys are different sizes, you need the large one driving to the small one to get the fast speed. You wouldn't want anything less than 135hp in a heavy crop you need speed to have any chance of making a grouper work. Even with everything working as well as it can you'll never make a decent row for a baler with a Kuhn grouper

Theres a contractor around here that has a 8ft kuhn with grouper and says it works well, has the grouper sitting a bit further away from the conditioner too, tryed too copy it but no good, have mine modified with wide tractor grip wheels,15inch ones, hell of a job, mowers shoud have this standard, whats the best mower, grouper too replace this with that makes a nice tidy row, rite few vicons around here,is taarup the best, have quite small fealds around here so can,t drive fast.

Krone seem to work ok, as do JF, the older JF used a Kuhn bed too.
Taarup make a neat row, and are perfecly clean..

Any of u lads know how too tension the grouper belt right, belt keeps moving down rollers and jaming, tryed top of rollers tighter than bottom which was no good, the bottom tighter than the top was better but belt still moved down after a while, keeping both rollers the same is no good either?

what issues are you having,I have since sold mine, did get it kind of sorted in the end,I welded plates on the rotor fingers on both sides of the rotor two row in each side too keep it balanced too create more draft too throw grass, also new belt and bearings on grouper roller, roller was broke but worked for a year or so before it eventually buckled
