Sorry, can't tell you - not seen our invoice yet. This will give you an idea and it's spec....What price?
Have you seen the downland liquid version that comes in one dose bottles? It looks very quick and easy to use but probably too expensive!!Sorry, can't tell you - not seen our invoice yet. This will give you an idea and it's spec....

Started using it after reading a comparison report (could be the one that @bovine mentions in one of his posts above) As @neilo says it is good spec at a reasonable price

Apparently the Downland rep was here today but I wasn't in the yard at the time. He called at the house and spoke to Mrs YB to say that the Downland milk replacer (IIRC Shine in their bags) is going to be £7 per bag more than it was last year
I've only just come in, so I'm off to the office to see what we paid last year.
Look out for a "How much are you paying for lamb milk replacer? " thread soon
Downland Lamb Force Premium Colostrum here. Lose very few that get it.
I started a new thread https://thefarmingforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/lamb-milk-replacer-price-rises.157814/ 'cos I didn't want to hi-jack the Colostrum Thread but maybe should have just carried onAny idea what Lamlac milk is, as a comparison?
Downland products, across the board, do seem to have taken a price jump this year.

I like the Downland milk, but I don't think it's that much better if it's not competitive on price.

ThanksI have moved a couple of the posts here, which quote prices to your other thread
You know what? Egg yolk has immunoglobulins for the baby chicky icky it supposed to nourish. Works for birds, maybe lambs too???Is it the person who gave you the egg custard recipe? I imagine it tastes a bit fishy.
You know what colostrum does? It provides immunoglobulins (antibodies) for the lamb as they cannot cross the placenta so are born without any. Where do you think the antibodies are in your egg and your milk?
I'm sure it looks a bit yellow and thick and colostrum 'like'. I'm sure it gives the lamb some energy, protein and a laxative effect. It's still doing NOTHING. Diddly squat for the lamb's immunity. That's not ok. Suggesting others do it on the internet is not ok. It's irresponsible.
Wrong kind of immunoglobulin. Mammals mainly need IgG, birds have IgY. It wouldn't do the same job.You know what? Egg yolk has immunoglobulins for the baby chicky icky it supposed to nourish. Works for birds, maybe lambs too???
Nope. It has a lower concentration of antibodies so more needs to be fed by volume.Any reason why lambs can't be reared on cow colostrum? Only a couple of triplets to help here and I have a large supply.
