Lamb pain relief

I had a ewe lamb last night. Difficult lambing head out and a lot of pulling.
Can I give the lamb flunixin? or is there anything else I can give for pain relief.

I gave the ewe flunixin last night she seems fine. The lambs head was swollen but now is receding. We had to pull very hard on one leg and neck. The lamb is starting to come round now but slow to get up.
Just wondering for future reference

We use any of the cattle painkillers in sheep. Generally at the same dose.

I prefer meloxicam (Metacam/Loxicom) or carprofen (Rimadyl/Norocarp) to flunixin as they probably act longer

We have some massive pulls (20lb+) with 1 legs, I bent 2 spray cans yesterday with the rope. We give 100-150ml of cows colostrum depending on size of lamb, if head has been out long and slightly swelled but not a big pull or havnt had to pull can be between 60-150ml to reduced swelling and keep them energetic.

We have a two week old cade lamb in with the ewes and lambs, she comes readily to the bottle but tries to get free feeds and received several kicks three days ago after which she was grinding her teeth. Gave her 0.5ml of Metacam which seemed to work but today she is grinding again. Can she be given further doses ?

Metacam works for three days, so if she's still in pain, then give a further dose.
Was she knocked against something when kicked? It takes a lot of pain for a sheep to tooth grind, poor little thing.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
