If you look around the country, you will see there are an awful lot less ewes in the hills.

Lairg is not the sale it was even 20 years ago, as the ewes are simply not there. Same story across Scotland with Blackie (most numerous ewe In UK) and Scotch Mule sales...

I remember the FW often used to show sales up north of “40,000 lambs”, this isn’t happening much anymore. The Peak District got decimated by F&M as did a lot of other areas.

Yeah it seems like we’re running in the opposite direction to the rest :rolleyes:

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
