usually find its where ewe wont let them suck or they are robbing milk , basically out the ewes eye line , easy to spot as they have urine on their heads, dont usually put them out , as often they starve down the line, cull lamb and mother at some point

These are all lambed outside, from what i've seen there is no robbing milk taking place, just the odd lamb from a twin doing it or singles, i don't like to see it

Would agree with previous comments in that it’s usually a lamb trying to steal a bit from a ewe as his mother isn’t tearing him or trying to get in on his own ewe without her noticing.

Usually not a great sign of mothering IME

Ewes don't seem to be rejecting them, just seems to be the lambs idea, my homebred flock don't seem to be doing it, just the exlanas and easycares
Ewes are short of milk. Lambs are trying to pinch an extra feed as getting insufficient when nursing. Give ewes access to more/better grass (or supplement if no grass!)

I've got a twin this year who do this, motoring along nicely and the ewe seems fine with the arrangement.

Can only assume they fell out about something a while back but doesn't seem to be causing any issues. So long as the flies stay away until they are weaned
