Biggest ever line up for Sumo UK LTD at Lamma
STAND G3

We intend to make a big impression at this year’s Lamma event, displaying an array of machines designed to suit any manor of farmers, who are using a variety of establishment methods.

On the stand we have a 6m DD, 3m Mounted DD, 4m DTS, Front Hopper, 3m Mounted Auto Reset Trio with Sumoseeder and Single Disc Openers, 6m Trailed Mixidisc, 6m Trailed Muptipress, 3m Quatro, 4 leg GLS, LDS3 with Liquid Injection Kit, 1000kg, 1500kg, 2000kg and 2500kg Front Weights.

Alongside the product line up, we have added several machines into the mix:

Mounted Multipress
Designed to till, level and press on a variety of conditions, the Mounted Multipress is happy at work on stubble right through to ploughed land. Featuring heavy duty spring loaded auto reset tines, complete with 310mm wide quick-fit points that help give a good mix in stubble cultivation. For working in ploughing, narrow points are available. Row spacing on the machine is set to 300mm, with a 750mm beam clearance. Working depth is from 25mm-250mm, with hydraulically adjustable levelling paddles across the full width of the machine. We provide a choice of four packers to give consolidation, the model shown at our Open Days will be a channel type Mod-Ring Packer. Standard features include lights, hydraulic brakes and transport wheels.

IMG_1288.JPG

Mod-Ring packers

Bolt on segment, spoked design, to allow interchangeability and ease of replacement when the packer is worn out.

Channel – very low wear of the packer rings due to soil filling the channel shape, protecting the ring with soil to soil contact. Suitable for shallow cultivating, can be used as a double roller to ensure more intensive consolidation. Spoked design to allow soil to flow, ensuring a good levelling effect.

Sharp – For use on heavy soils to slice and crack clods, the wide shouldered ring design ensures good consolidation and stops bulldozing on lighter soils. Can be used as a double roller to ensure more intensive consolidation and clod cracking. Spoked design to allow soil to flow, ensuring a good levelling effect.

Roller – Convex wide ring design ensures good consolidation when shallow cultivating. Can be used as a double roller to ensure more intensive consolidation. Spoked design to allow soil to flow, ensuring a good levelling effect.

DD Toolbar (Direct Drill)
A mounted disc drill to be used in conjunction with a front hopper. An ultra-low disturbance disc drill designed to work into a zero or no-till seed bed, previous crop residues and cover crops. Seeding units are mounted on spring pressurized parallelograms, which allows for contour following and down force adjustment. A single 450mm disc set at an angle cuts through the soil and opens up a trench which seed is placed into. A spiked wheel then follows which breaks the trench wall and covers the seed with soil and firms the seeding area. Row spacing is 200mm and has a drilling depth range of 12mm-100mm with manual adjustment. The seeding elements fold vertically for road transport and a full road lighting kit is fitted as standard.

IMG_2763.JPG

DTS Toolbar

A mounted 3m tine drill to be used in conjunction with a front hopper. The DTS is a strip-till drill designed to work directly into previous year’s crop residues, and will work equally well with a min-till or a plough based system. Seeding units are mounted on hydraulically pressurized parallelograms, which allow for contour following and down force adjustment. A single 450mm disc cuts through trash, allowing a tungsten edged deep loosening leg to run through at a maximum working depth of 250mm. Row spacing is 333mm and seed is placed in a 150mm wide band. Covering discs then channel the loosened soil over the seed and foam filled press wheels firm the soil around the seed. Full road lighting kit is fitted as standard.

IMG_2764.JPG

Sumoforma

Reintroduced to our product line up, the Sumoforma body features the largest mouldboards and the widest share on the market, designed to create steep sides with a wide furrow bottom allowing normal wheel/tyre equipment to be used on subsequent operations. All bodies have top forming lids.

Integral bar point subsoiling enabling soil to be loosened below the furrow bottom and to help keep the machine running in a straight line. The bar point is held in place by a hardened pin. Once removed the point can be dropped down to any depth and is especially shaped to allow a replacement to be welded to it enabling all of the material to be worn away.

The 4 bed Sumoforma is designed to form four beds in one pass i.e. 3 full and 2 halves.

Both Sumoformas have telescopic toolbars as an option to run a bed loosening tine through the outer half beds.

The 4 bed Sumoforma comes complete with dual depth control wheels, meaning on even the roughest ploughing the depth is constant.

Cat 3 and 4 linkage are standard on the 4 bed Sumoforma enabling the biggest tractors to be used to help in spring cultivations. Leg protection is either Auto Rest or Shear Pin. Bed widths from 1.7m.

New Trailed Forage Harvester and Plough Body

Kongskilde Industries via its UK subsidiary launch a brand new trailed forage harvester and plough body for the recently introduced Kongskilde by Overum plough range at Lamma 2016

FCT 1260 Trailed Forage Harvester

upload_2016-1-15_18-0-41.png

The Kongskilde FCT 1260 is a natural development of the previous eponymous JF branded models and has been rumored to appear for sometime according to Kongskilde’s Martin Holden. Based on the larger FCT 1460, the 1260 features a 2.70m pick up with hydraulic roller crop press. The feed rollers are now shaft driven via a harvest gearbox with selectable speed for varying chop length. Feed rollers are heavier and feature bigger shafts, bearings and support arms. The cutting rotor is also redesigned with cast bearing housings and new knife fixings. Drive comes via a wide angle pto and through the “swan neck” drawbar to swivel gearbox. This design allows for in line or offset operation in the field. A metal detector system is standard as is a central lubrication system for the main bearings within the machine. A hydraulically foldable chute is a recommended option which allows the tallest of today’s trailers to be loaded.

Crucially the transport width is now 3.0m, a first for such a wide pick up design. “This will appeal to many farmers and especially contractors as access in many areas is restricted by narrow roads, bridges and gateways. The ability to “steer” the machine via the drawbar is also beneficial” adds Martin Holden.

The FCT 1260 has a max power rating of approx 300 hp PTO.

New XLD Plough body

upload_2016-1-15_18-2-8.png

The XLD body is the first new body from Kongskilde by Overum in several years. The current XL/AX body has served the UK market very well and has proven to be an outstanding body in many soil types and especially where shallow ploughing is required. The XLD body is by definition a deeper working body and also wider to accommodate the wider tractor tyres used today. Lamma 2016 will be the first public viewing of the new body and deliveries are due to start this Autumn.

BRIGGS IRRIGATION

Stand: B41

BRIGGS IRRIGATION IS A LEADING SUPPLIER AND MANUFACTURER OF OVERHEAD IRRIGATION EQUIPMENT INCLUDING HOSEREELS, RAINGUNS, BOOMS, AND DIESEL ENGINE PUMP UNITS

upload_2016-1-18_13-15-28.png

Briggs Irrigation has added a new 46-metre model to its range of hosereel mounted booms.

The R46 can irrigate from 54 - 66m, depending on nozzle and sprinkler combinations. Designed and thoroughly tested to ensure quick and secure mounting and transport on the hosereel. the boom can be set up in minutes by just one person.

Lightweight but robust, the R46 incorporates large diameter water tubes for high flow rates and reduced friction loss.

Briggs Irrigation Director Adrian Colwill said:

“Our new R46 boom has been engineered to make it extremely quick and easy to move. It can even be transported along the headland on the hosereel while fully extended so the operator does not have to extend the arms for the next run.

“We are also offering the option of offset hose feed so the hose can run in the wheeling and not on the crop.

“For growers looking for a larger hosereel mounted model and who don’t need the irrigation widths provided by our four-wheel chassis booms, this is an extremely convenient alternative, offering all the benefits of advanced boom irrigation in a compact unit.”

The new heavy duty chassis used for the R46 is now available for existing R18, R24 and R30 boom sections. This chassis offers offset waterfeed spanning one bed (1.8 to 2.2m) or central waterfeed (1.5 to 4.4m track).

Briggs will be exhibiting a selection of machines from its extensive range of booms, pumps and hosereels at the show - stand B41.

upload_2016-1-18_13-16-25.png

In addition to introducing two new booms for the 2016 season - the R76 4-wheel chassis boom and the R46 hosereel mounted boom - Briggs Irrigation has a range of new optional fittings and ancillary equipment.

The new heavy duty chassis used for the R46 is now available for existing R18, R24 and R30 boom sections. This chassis offers offset waterfeed spanning one bed (1.8 to 2.2m) or central waterfeed (1.5 to 4.4m track).

A new VR Hosereel drag fitting allows layflat supply hoses to be ‘dragged’ to the next run without disconnecting them from the hosereel. Available for VR4, VR5 and VR7 machines, the connector enables the supply hose from the main to be dragged easily and quickly to the next run, making it a simple but effective time saving option that has already proved popular on several farms.

With more and more customers using layflat pipeline to deliver water from the pump to the field, the company has introduced hydraulic front or rear mounted hose winders for layflat irrigation main.

Layflat offers a number of advantages over aluminium mains including a higher pressure rating, fewer joints and the ability to go round bends and through hedges without needing extra fittings. One person can lay down up to 1000m of hose per hour.

Briggs Irrigation will be exhibiting a selection of machines from its extensive range of booms, pumps and hosereels at the show

2016 is the year of the Deere

stand no G54
John Deere Limited celebrates its 50th anniversary in the UK and Ireland in 2016, starting with a special display at LAMMA (stand no G54). The company started trading from Langar in January 1966, and the original premises are still in use today as John Deere’s visitor centre and national parts distribution centre.

upload_2016-1-18_15-5-2.png

One of the tractors sold by John Deere dealers 50 years ago, and on which the company started to build its reputation, was the 4020 Diesel. This 91hp six-cylinder tractor was the first to appear on the UK market with a powershift transmission and became arguably the most popular tractor of its era. The rest of the John Deere Limited product line in 1966 included the 710, 5010 and 5020 tractors, ploughs, cultivators, disc harrows and the 530 and 630 combines.

Langar’s own specially restored 4020, nicknamed BEV after its original registration plate, played a starring role in last November’s Lord Mayor’s Show in London, helping the Worshipful Company of Farmers and the NFU to promote the Back British Farming campaign.

In a nod to the 2016 anniversary, it was chosen to parade alongside its modern day descendant, the new flagship 620hp four-track 9620RX, to highlight just one aspect of the tremendous advances that have been made in farming technology over the last 50 years.

The tractors are standing side by side once again in the LAMMA display to help promote a very special event that will take place at Langar in September 2016. John Deere customers and fans are being invited to get involved in the 50th anniversary celebrations by visiting a dedicated page on the company’s website, which will be going live later in January at www.JohnDeere.co.uk/50years.

upload_2016-1-18_15-3-12.png

Classic John Deere tractor and machinery owners visiting LAMMA 2016 also have an early chance to register their machines for this field-based event, which aims to gather together examples of John Deere products sold through the company’s UK and Irish dealers during the period 1966 to 2016.
upload_2016-1-18_15-4-20.png

There will be demonstration and working plots for those who would like to bring implements (preferably made by John Deere) and use them, plus parades and prizes. Owners of old and new John Deere machines are encouraged to submit an application form for the event, which are available on the John Deere stand at LAMMA and then downloadable from the John Deere website after the show.

Bio-N is the next generation in nitrogen fertiliser, Independent trials have shown it will fix at least 70kg/ha of nitrogen to your crop. Using nitrogen fixing bacteria applied to the soil in a liquid activator of bio-stimulants and growth activators you can reduce artificial nitrogen and replace with low-cost Bio-N. Ideal for organic farms, farms in NVZs or simply farms looking to reduce artificial inputs. Come to stand 740 to find out how Bio-N can benefit you.
