That's nothing new to be honest. Most machines are stitch welded with a run of silicon in between. It's only to stop water ingress rather than anything fakeHad a enjoyable and insightful day. However some worrying finds on a big manufactures trailers. Using silicon to fake a weld on the axle mountains. Very worrying and won't look at their machines in the same way again. Especially as this trailer was a 18ton job. Exactly why I go to shows like that to sort the wheat from the chaff.

This isn’t the thread to get into this (I’ve have run a thread on this in the past) but, how is it unreasonable to know what I’m doing tomorrow? I can’t just drop everything last minute because a hauliers give me less than 24h notice #1 I generally know what jobs I’ve got booked in and to change them could mean letting sometimes 3-4 plus people down #2 I’m never in a rush to move stuff.Thats very unreasonable. As a now ex haulier, we often didn't get the next days loads until 3-4pm the previous day. Occasionally, we'd get a customer with numerous loads in the same week, but that wasn't particularly commonplace. The mills are very hand to mouth.
Hope the haulier makes you wait when you want stuff moving in a clatter. We would go out of our way to help those that were helpful to us, the awkward buggers always got put down the list. Simple

ps, I will usually do my best to accommodate and I’ve arranged for them to come at 6am tomorrow to fit in with there schedule. Hope that’s ok with you?
I’m not getting smart about it, I just stated I need 48h notice to guarantee someone will be there to load and you say that’s unreasonable. Personally I do t think it is unreasonable to have a work schedule that can’t be altered at the drop of a hat, there had to be give and take on both sides though. So let’s just leave it at that. ?No need to get smart about it fella. You said if they didn't give 48h notice it was their problem. I was putting the other side across. That's all. You please yourself, no problem to me at all.
Care to name and shame? I missed that and I’m looking at trailers at the moment, can pm me if you like.Had a enjoyable and insightful day. However some worrying finds on a big manufactures trailers. The Broughan trailers don't look bad at all the chassis being a box fabricated from 2 PFC fully welded will give ultimate strength some of the welding could have been a touch better but everything almost fully welded,For what its worth the best finished machine I saw For quality of welding ,strength and paint by a mile was the Agrihire rear discharge spreaders top jobCare to name and shame? Isn’t the big hall in the middle of the c the entrance? AS the halls and roads curve in a cIt was sold out but they only sold the last stand in December so not rammed full. And they still didn’t use the big hall in the middle of the ‘C’ shape that was originally going to be included in LAMMA IIRC.
Deutz stand was brillDeutz?
I did have a look round the Broughan trailers, and they don’t look a bad trailer. However, they just didn’t seem to have the finish that would inspire me that they would last as long as my old trailers have. Not sure what it was but the steel body just looked a bit tinny from a distance, could just be me though?.The Broughan trailers don't look bad at all the chassis being a box fabricated from 2 PFC fully welded will give ultimate strength some of the welding could have been a touch better but everything almost fully welded,For what its worth the best finished machine I saw For quality of welding ,strength and paint by a mile was the Agrihire rear discharge spreaders top job
