LAMMA 2020
LAMMA 2020 was a huge hit for RTKF Net and it must be said a great success all round. Everyone we spoke to over the two days, both exhibitors and visitors alike, were very positive about it.
We saw a huge number of existing clients and had a raft of new enquiries which is great news when you look at the time and effort that goes into these events. Technology seemed to be a heavy influencer for most of the exhibiters, whether it was completely new technology being demonstrated for the first time or more conventional equipment being digitised for the modern farming age.
Robotics is starting to make more of an appearance with automation in small Vineyard and Orchard tractors and full on robotics solutions from NAIO. On the RTKF Net stand we had the Agrointelli Robotti which is an autonomous tool carrier with three-point hitch and PTO and up to 150hp. The Robotti can carry implements up to 3 metres wide and work in most of the usual environments a conventional tractor can. For us this seems like the next natural step.
Of course, the start-up organisations were present such as The Small Robot company. Their vision of a swarm of smaller robots tendering to every plant in the field seems like it may be far off in the future but their drive and passion for the project could mean we see these solutions sooner than we all think.
There were noticeable absences, again, of some of the big players and those that did attend seemed to take full advantage of this. There didn’t seem to be a break in the frenzy that was the AGCO stand. All in all, it seemed to be a vote of confidence from the industry for the move to Birmingham and a bigger better show, needless to say RTKF Net will be returning in 2021 for more of the same.
