Organisers of LAMMA, one of the UK’s biggest machinery shows, have made the decision to push their 2021 event back by four months.
The event draws in tens of thousands of machinery enthusiasts from across the UK and Ireland and was planned to take place on January 12-13, 2021.
A statement read: “Following the UK government announcements made last week, AgriBriefing has announced today that its LAMMA 2021 event will be moved from its usual January date, with the 2021 event now being held on May 25-26, 2021, to help ensure a high-quality in-person event.
This change is a result of the ongoing uncertainties around the Covid-19 pandemic. This date change is for the 2021 event only and LAMMA 2022 will revert to the normal early January date.
Commenting on the decision, Elisabeth Mork-Eidem, group events director at AgriBriefing, said: “The LAMMA show is a key part of the industry calendar, and we have seen an amazing amount of support from all our loyal exhibitors throughout this year.
“We know how much everyone wants the show to take place; we’ve had record advance bookings with more exhibitors being signed up even in the last few weeks and lots of interest from visitors to attend.
However, pushing on with a January show under the current circumstances does not feel like the right thing to do.
“This has not been an easy decision but listening to the wishes of visitors, exhibitors and sponsors, this will provide the best opportunity to ensure that everyone gets the experience and the value they have come to expect from LAMMA. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the NEC next May.”
